Antalya is a city on the Mediterranean coast of southwestern Turkey. It is the capital city of Antalya Province. The population of the city is 1,127,634 (2007 census).

The city of Antalya corresponds to the lands of ancient Pamphylia to the east and Lycia to the west. Antalya has a hot climate.

Situated on a cliff over the Mediterranean, Antalya is surrounded by mountains. Atatürk claimed that without a doubt Antalya is the most beautiful place in the world
