Wow. My heart pretty much physically hurts right now. :'( That was so sad! The footage of the plane crash alone is sad but the song---my God! These poor men died for no reason. They had such talent and they were so young! Long live Buddy, Ritchie and the Big Bopper! And RIP Roger Peterson. Glad I appreciate this music rather than what my generation listens to!

@visor109 well no...Mason City Airport is on the outskirts of town adjacent to Clear Lake. The Plane crashed in a field in Clear Lake about 5 mi NW of the airport.

WOW what a sad song, and the footage to go with it just pulls at your heart strings. We will NEVER forget these great people, but we will always have the music that they left behind for US. Maybe they would even be amazed that so many years later they still have fans the love them!
