  • outstanding work. My research suggests that all powder barrel were painted red with a series of dots indicating proof strenght - white was the most powerful then yellow, each with one, two or three dots more dots equals LESS power so- white one dot was the strongest powder. larger barrels were of course for H2O and could be painted with any variety of colors and with barrel makers marks. the point? authenticity suggests barrels of different sizes.have fun:):)

  • neat lathe!! those pickle barrels turned out well. Make sure you mark one valve oil.... for lubricating the anchor of course! haha.
