This theme represent Joy because only Marco Polo lived that encounter of two cultures: Europe with ignorance and China´s Wisdom, but also sadness because no one else will deserve that privilege... to live that encounter.

Presicosa versión de la que es -junto con la MIsión- el mejor soundtrack jamás compuesta por Ennio Morricone. Se me ponen los pelos de punta. Si en lugar de ser una BSO para una serie de televisión hubiese sido para el cine, a estas alturas sería considerada una obra de Culto.

Amazing version for the best soundtrack ever composed for Ennio Morricone -just with The Mission-. If this score has been write for a Hollywood Film, not for an italian tv serie, now it would be a piece of cult.

E' qualcosa che ho dentro, da piccolino, dalla prima volta che ho visto Marco Polo di Giuliano Montaldo in televisione. Questa musica si è impressa a fuoco nella mia anima, come quando senti un profumo che ti riporta indietro nel tempo.

This OST of Marco Polo and the OST of The Mission both are the best of music. This theme at the beginning seems to describe the lack of life in the desert and lonelyness in the mountains and in the middle of the theme you feel like you are Marco Polo himself when you discover things that you see en China and in the final part you live the desperation to explain what yoou see in China and make them believe in the ideas that you bring from other people but all think that your are crazy.
