@coffunism Oh no I understand that. I was thinking differently. My stencils are "negatives" just cut outs with no border. eg: a bird cut out. completely block out for the bird itself, no paint, then the border gradients outward.
It's hard to explain but on my guitar, i painted the base black, then put the stencil on top then went over lightly with red, to have a bird knockout in black, with red gradienting around it outward in to the black. looks very impressive. ;)

@OfficerFlake Think about it dude. If there aren't "bridges" parts will just fall off from the whole. That's why you have bridges, not to make it easier to cut.
