@jd9547 different word but same meaning
-
@jd9547 That's more equivalent to the Mandarin "xiang" which is more like "would like," as in "would like to eat."
-
I thought "want" = "serng" ?o_O
我想茶。(I want tea.)

I know this video is old and the blog listed has been taken down, but a quick suggestion for anyone trying to make a similar language learning video... please take out the background music. It is hard enough to learn a language by simply watching a youtube video, we don't need music in the background to distract.

@evilgerbiyu You speak too much Putonghua, LOL! Either way you look at it, it's all 我要咖啡. I find I do a lot of that 'drawing the character in the air' thing with Cantonese speakers. Thank goodness they're all so patient and kind with me. Most of the time they ask me to shift to English. I ask them if my Putonghua is bad and they say no, it's pretty good, it's just that they don't speak it. I change to English, but my accent is so heavy they make me go back to 'characters in the air', LOL!
