@kksf1979 its true they report news rather than giving opinions on it. Unlike fox news, there are no opinion shows liek hannity or o'reilly factor... its literally just news, along with a few documentaries and other non partisan things.

PLEASE SEE PREVIOUS COMMENTS! BELOW 7) Accountable to the government if it is perceived to lose its neutrality (see firing of Greg Dyke) 8). Although formed from the Gov, it actually critcises the Government the most showing its independant. 9) It has no advertisement pressures because it is funded through a licence fee so pressured or lobbied. 10) The BBC is incredible respected worldwide for its neutrality.

4) Set program criteria i.e. the BBC HAS to produce programs in the public interest (ie documentaries/classic music/investigative journalism) and these are expected to have shit ratings. 5) No commercial channel can do this and must pander to its political slant. 6) BBC is accountable because almost everyone HAS to pay for it so Hannity type news would be offensive because people with other views get fucked off about it being bias.

The BBC is absolutely less bias then any other western broadcaster. 1)paid through a license fee so it is not 'owned' like Fox and in theory has no institutional agenda other then the impact of its leadership whose own editorial opinions will obviously impact2) Leadership agenda is less than regular channels due to the stringent appointment process 3) Strict government regulations on the standard of journalism (ie balanced, verifed, tone, nature of sources etc)
