This 5x5 Workout consists of 5 separate exercises including a barbell squat, bench press, overhead press, bent over rows, and deadlifts. To accomplish this set of exercises correctly you must complete 5 repetitions and repeat the series in 5 sets. Take a minute break between all. Form is crucial before increasing weight. Weight should be increased in 5 pound increments.

  • I see that you use the Manta Ray Squat Device. I also use it and love it!

I'd like to know if you also incorporate cardio into you 5x5 system?

  • @jwhitner Hello ! • Do you add weight to every set?

  • 5 x 5 is one of the best strength programs,... the results this bloke has got are really poor. your diet must be shit

  • what is your grip like on the overhead press? same as bench? so for me I put middle finger for bench, would it be the same for press?

  • Great form on your squats and deadlifts.. im gonna switch to a 5x5 routine pretty soon cuz I feel like im starting to plateau... 5x5 should help me push thru the plateau yes?

  • what brand are those red grip plates?

  • Do you do 1 set of each exercise 5 times or the 5 sets of the exercise then go onto the next exercise?

  • hi mike, great video I'm looking to put together my own 5x5 program im having a little trouble working out my first week weights though i was wondering if you help? all the models i've seen suggest quite a low finishing 12 week weight well below my lifts at the moment im not sure how i should adjust?
