  • @cutamisraeli It's amazing that the only comment you can respond with after watching this great production number with these talented kids, is the fact that we cut the profanity out. Incredible. Did you consider the fact that this was a production featuring child performers ages 7-16, and not adults ? Cutting gratuitous profanity is hardly "wimping" out, and the fact that you think so is sad. Also, the fact that you use the word "cuss" is also very distressing in 2012.

  • John P. Healy, and my involvement with SJCMT, led me to be the founder of this youth theater here in Medford, Oregon - the Teen Musical Theater of Oregon, shown in this video. Thank you, John Healy, for giving me my life's direction. You were the best.

  • Wow... what masterful and subtle use of spotlights. Who were those wizards of stage lighting that executed such artful illumination?

  • @corinfletcher1 - Thank you for the compliment ; the lighting designer of the shows we produce, is Brad Nelson. He is the production manager for the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater in Medford, Oregon. He is a wonderful lighting designer, and I'm sure he'll appreciate your compliments !

  • You're welcome, Olivia - We're SO happy you're in our "Island" Cast ! It's going to be a great show !

    See you soon,

    John.

  • Thank you ! The cast was amazing.

  • I can't believe that they wimped out and Aunt Eller said, "I ain't sayin' that I'm no better than anybody else but I'll be DARN'D if I ain't just as good. In the stage play version the ALWAYS said DAMNED, but they wimped out in the 1954 and said DANGED. "Damned" is hardly a "cuss" word in 2008!! Geezzz!!!

  • @JohnnyFoster Actually, J.T., I was referring to the spotlights themselves. I know that Brad did the design... I've worked at the Crate since before the remodel. I was the stage right spot operator, picking up mostly Ms. McCandless in this scene. I said "subtle", because the spots can hardly be seen.

  • Haha, ahh the good ol' days.

I can't wait to see "Once on this Island!"

Hope to see you guys soon!

    -Evan

  • I cant wait to be able to do this for Once on This Island!! Thanks, JOhn, for the opportunity!!
