You're welcome! This was a great concept to get all these artists in one room, and it was very well done. Too bad it was seen by so few when it aired.

What great memories! Thank you.

Does anyone here know why these teen tragedy songs were such a popular genre in the 50's and 60's?

I think it is just a case of different writers and labels following a theme that was successful for others. Back then, songs were written and released very quickly, so if something was hot on the charts, others tried to duplicate the sound.

Okay...this has puzzled me for YEARS! Who is the guy in the audience with the shoulder length blonde hair?

@garymichael1950
That is Gary S. Paxton, who is a singer, songwriter, and producer. He has worked with many artists over the years. As a singer, he was Skip (of Skip and Flip) on "It Was I" and "Cherry Pie." He was the guy who did "Alley Oop" (as Hollywood Argyles) and he was also produced "Monster Mash" by Bobby "Boris" Pickett. Gary is quite a character and has a long history in the music business, but is not a name most people recognize.

Well, glad I could answer your question! Listening to Gary talking during this show was really fun. He is a humorous guy, and has done so many great things in the music industry. Quite a character!
