  • Even Meat Loaf's version wasn't as good as this, and THAT'S saying something!

  • I think this one sounds superior to Meatloaf's version. Just like Meatloaf's version of "Nowhere Fast", Holly's versions are wonderful in both accounts!

dnt forget while he done song for meat , he did songs for the queen of rock bonnie tyler

  • @Drwhodunnit1973

come on no one sings meats songs as good. meat always sings his own songs better than anyone

  • Sounds like a BONNIE TYLER tribute :-)

just kidding, one of my fav albums of the Steinman era.

  • @STEVEMOR909

Too right mate. The new album is a far cry from the Steinman style music thats made Meat Loaf so famous.

  • @MagnaderAlpha I believe most people follow that opinion because the lyrics go best with this type of rock genre. However Bat Out Of Hell 2 was built around mostly hard rock. A found Meat Loaf has been trying to produce some metal tracks but I believe if you get Meat Loaf's brilliant vocals with this musical arrangement and vocal backup people wold most likely prefer Meat Loaf. The man is the master of powerful voices Holly just has the benefit with Steinman's vivid attention to this album.

  • @dwmitch weird, the first thing I thought when I heard Meat's version was how inappropriate the guitar riff was lol.And that was before I heard this! Both are fantastic songs though.

  • I know it's an earlier version, but it just doesn't sound the same without that guitar hook in the Bat II version.

The vocals are much better, though. The song makes a lot more sense when it's sung by a woman.

  • Jim Steinman still has it even after almost 40 years! No wonder he produced so many hit songs with so many artists and 2 legendary albums with Meatloaf. I heard Meatloaf's new album and it's the worse piece of crap I ever heard in my life. Meatloaf is the luckiest guy in the world to have become so famous basically because of the genius of this man. This version is awesome as are many of the other songs on Original Sin. You can imagine how many of these songs could be hits for other artists!

  • omg awesome!! if only the pussycat dolls had this kind of rock sensibility along with blow-your-brains-out sexiness.

  • Man, I need to get out more, until recently I didn't realize how many songs I grew up with as 'Meat Loaf songs' were done by other artists first. This version is really good, but I can't say I prefer one over the other.
