E3 press conference, Interview (C) by G4
http://www.g4tv.com/videos/53251/Trackmania-2-Canyon-Developer-E3-Preview-Video/

Ubisoft's press conference during this year's E3 was all about sharing adventures and experiences with other people, and as such they announced ManiaPlanet, their new sharing service.

ManiaPlanet is basically Ubisoft's equivalent to whatever everyone else is doing right now: EA Gun Club, Call of Duty Elite and EA Origin; a sharing service in which you can track your stats, as well as you friends stats.

Track Mania has been a huge PC sleeper hit for some time now, at least in Europe, and Track Mania 2 appears to be about more cars, more tracks and more customisation than ever before. ManiaPlanet allows you to share your creations, track times, cars and everything else I can't bear to mention.

  • TMO: pure fun in a classic package.

TMS: most visual appealing environments, evolved gameplay and lunatic quality tracks.

TMN: the best experience one could wish: Olympics competitive spirit in a green beatiful statdium.

TMU: consolidation and extension in a single game of the too many emotions and experiences of the first titles.

With TM2, like the others, I cannot see where they can improve. But let's see if Nadeo can surprise us for the 5th time.

  • @ordiantakeover you do realize that if it's not newbie friendly people will feel it's too hard and put it down for good right?

  • Problem is with new developers that they want it too realistic, and maybe a bit more fun but definitively not more skillful. Most NEW games are "newbie" friendly, meaning even a pro can get beaten up by someone who plays for the first time. This decreases the skill level in a game.

  • when we can download the demo?

  • ubisoft suck

  • @DjEracha I asked the person who told me. He was referring to the doors and stuff being able to fly open. Yeah, that's not real damage of course. But it's more than we've had in subsequent versions.

  • @eyebo i had tm original and there was no damage, in tm2 there is real damage

  • @DjEracha It's not new though, cause old versions of TMO had visual damage too (or so I'm told).

  • @lgrrf there's car damage

  • @MeFFF Not for me. :P That's how I've bought all games for the past 5+ years.
