I take a cheap RF Wireless Transmitter/Receiver set from a crappy Chinese RC Car and hook it up via a Hex inverter to an I-PAC.
===========================================
(An I-PAC is basically a USB device that converts closing a switch to a keypress)
===========================================
The RF Transmitter is SO CRAPPY that instead of potentiometers it just uses switches that have springs and masquerade as variable. Kind of ingenious actually.
So I hooked the receiver up to the I-PAC even getting power from it, and put a hex inverter on the buttons, the logic was somehow backwards (some weird voltage thing). I was originally going to use relays, but the voltage coming out of the receiver switches appeared to be too low to trigger the ones I had.
Soooo with the hex inverter I was getting multiple key presses from the ipac, but they were distinct for each button. I then had to take all that stuff and make some actionscript to convert it to separate button presses (all I want to do is trigger some samples in the end).
What dis he say?
