In America you can have a private pension plan and social security (public option) together when one retires. There should and must be a public health insurance option to keep the private ins. companies honest. In one way America is more socialistic than Canada. example? GW Bush in 2006 signed into law the Pension Protection Act. Canada doesn't have such protection for private pensions. WTF?

its true the newspapers are always complaining, but we're british its our national pastime, the news headlines would swing into a deep entrenched defence, and a focus on the horrors of the american system, if the govt ever wanted to abolish the health service
