Ethiopia-Axum

In the 3rd century, Axum (Aksum) began interfering in South Arabian affairs, controlling at times the western Tihama region among other areas. By the late 3rd century it had begun minting its own currency and was named by Mani as one of the four great powers of his time along with Persia, Rome, and China. It converted to Christianity in 325 or 328 under King Ezana and was the first state ever to use the image of the cross on its coins. At its height, Axsum controlled northern Ethiopia, Eritrea, northern Sudan, southern Egypt, Djibouti, Yemen, and southern Saudi Arabia, totalling 1.25 million km²

tks Astwa, your analogy make a perfect sense. sadly ppl always feel the need to put someone down in order to feel better about themselves. a person should hv the ability to totally love who they are and still respect and appreciate everyone else around them...we should not judge ppl in relation to ourselves for we all are very different yet equally valuable.

this video remind me of a prayer my grandfather used to say ''Meharene! be Lalibela, be Nakutela, be Axsom Titsion, be Adewa Slassie...'' he would continue with many long list of holy names but those particular ones i always remeber ever time i hear either Lalibela or Axsum. miss his prayers every morning and night. its was music to the ears.

Now where does those huge massive stone blocks come from, very similar to Puma Punku on the other side of the world. The smaller ones i get, thats typical african building style.

@HakMan1989 there was a civilization called yeha...its bout 30 0r 40 miles outside of axum..i happend to visit the place n its amazing. i belive it predates axum by 700 0r 800 years.

This is such an amazing country. The people of Ethiopia are the very christians who still hold the true faith of the church. Many in the western World have changed their theological dogmatic ideas and ideals to fit the modern materialistic civilization while Ethiopia stands still. It is a cuture that will take you years and years back but the peace and amazing holliness can be still felt at this historic, rich places.
