Note: I am neither for nor against kids being at the IMATS event. I'm merely relaying the news I received on the matter of brands pulling out of the show last minute, this being one of the reasons. I think kids deserve to be there cuz there is nothing like imats for teenagers who want to get into the art of makeup. I think "kids" should be allowed to go to imats. However I can understand how frustrated professional make up artists would be if they weren't able to get a product they needed.

I think it would be nice to set up an event especially for the younger crowd, since there's such a growing interest due to the Internet media. I'm kinda neutral on the topic, I wasn't bothered by it as much as others were, but I'm in a different situation then them.

I think your misunderstanding what I mean, I didn't say kids shouldn't be there. I'm talking about why some popular brands pulled out of the show last minute. Please don't shoot the messenger. I do however understand both sides of the issue here. It isn't ageism at all, it's that it's not meant to be a discount show, it's an event geared towards professionals, people involved in the beauty industry for a living. Artists need the make up more because it's for their daily job.

My thoughts exactly! I felt like I was baking in an oven in there! Everyone was sweating, people's make up was melting, not a comfortable situation for the artists. It felt like all the oxygen was being sucked out of the room it was so hot & stuffy. They over sold on tickets & were over capacity I heard. The LA convention center would be a much better place for this from now on.

@chitownzfinesthustla Nobody needs makeup! if you are ugly without makeup, do you really think makeup will help you? NO! only beautiful ppl naturally will look good with makeup.It enhances natural beauty. She looks gorgeous thoug :)

I agree it was a bummer the brand didn't show over that, initially I heard it was just because there were too many FX make up brands there. So I asked the company directly & the answer they gave me was there were to many 13 & 14 year olds last year & that they would no longer be doing IMATS anymore. The only thing I "felt" at the show was hot just like everybody else. It was over capacity & too many people in general. No need to turn this into something ugly. I'm a drama free girl.

Now your just putting words in my mouth. I'm RELAYING the news I heard from some pro artists at the show & the brand itself. Why do people always shoot the messenger?! I admitted I do understand where they are coming from based on THEIR perspective. I personally don't really mind as much, I didn't have alot I needed to buy & wasn't affected by it in any way. Me being understanding does not mean I'm complaining, in no shape, way or form did I complain. What I said IS what I mean.
