Barack Obama - Just Words? Kinetic Typography to Commemorate his Inauguration Speech

This is my first attempt at Kinetic Typography, using a soundbite I liked from one of Obama's Speeches. I wanted to experiment with heavy depth of field & a few other original ideas.

All done in After Effects CS3, although the halftone effects were done in Photoshop CS3.

It'd be great if people could see past the person, listen to the speech itself, and watch the medium in which that speech is being presented. As an analogy, people who can't do that are similar to the racist who couldn't see past Martin Luther King's color and realize his "I Have a Dream" speech to be very inspirational.

As for me, I find the typography pretty good, with my only criticism against the "We hold these truths..." (can't read it) and the ending (looks really clustered).

@thomaseo Thanks for the response mate. I agree. And also thanks for the constructive feedback - It's interesting looking back at this piece, it was the first kinetic typography I ever made and it was also one that got me a job. My more recent work is in my 2011 and hopefully a lot more will be coming soon, as that reel's now almost a year old!
