God sent me here for a reason. Last nite I went to watch football w/ a friend. All night I kept thinking about was how fat I am. I'm 5''7 170 pds. I have such low self esteem and came home and cried. I don't feel pretty enough. I asked God how could I be a Christian and not love myself. I believe His answer is in this video. It's not the outside but my love for Him that makes me beautiful. I should not have been in that bar anyway. Lord please change me and fill my loneliness with your love.

This is so true. I have been awakened to this truth by my Lord and Master in the last 3 years. Before then I hate to say I was a proclaiming being a christian that dressed to get attention. For some reason I thought it was ok to dress in tight but covering clothes. I thought as long as I had no cleavage showing and that my belly was covered I was modest. Moreover, Sarah, who called Abraham "lord" was very beautiful, and she is named among the faithful of Hebrews 11. But truly, a woman who fears God is of utmost importance.

@soaringsolo - Our country is just insane with its focus on a certain kind of look that is considered "beautiful". Check this out: A missionary with a slim American wife went to Africa. Now in that tribe, if you are a good provider, your wife has plenty of stored food carried around. They looked at the missionaries wife, and some of the men came and discretely told the missionary that he had better start feeding his wife better, because he was a terrible witness to the community! :-)

Women are to respect their bodies, which includes not dressing trashy. It is not solely a Muslim view. God called His people to honor and respect each other, and that includes women dressing modestly. No, I do not cover up head to toe, but I know how to dress classy and look good without showing everything I have. I'm so lucky to have 2 daughters who feel the same way.
