A great 1973 track from Chairman of the Board, danced to by Pans People. The girls are dancing to another piece of music, but as you can see, their dance moves could just as easily be credited to this classic track. Thanks to the original poster of this clip

  • i worked as a doorman in the 70s at some well known clubs. i saw and protected all the great acts of the time. chairman of the board have always been one of my favourite acts and it was fantastic to see them on many many nights and to spend time with them. cant buy those memories. brilliant....

  • What a simply phenomenal record. Pan's People are dancing to Van McCoy's 'The Hustle' here, they are certainly easy on the eye but the true star of this show is the General. What a voice.

  • tough to argue with this

  • WOW DeeDee you are amazing.

  • @funkality Sounds like Bernie on clavinet, true.

  • Great funk track. I remember hearing this on the radio when I was a kid and my sis had the 45 of this song too. Also, the women in this video were quite hot.....

  • Bernie Worrell on keyboards?

Funny, but I am referring more to the fact that the MEDIA was not such a monstrosity back then. People, Black or White had more freedom back then. It is not a black vs white thing really. Both cultures are influenced greatly now by our modern media.

All the good energy and panache of the 60's, the Beat and Bop energy propelled by the fearlessness of a 'can do' culture, was blown away by the winds of consumerism.

I have a blog if you have the inkling.
