http://www.kaucherkustoms.com The car was designed by noted custom car designer Keith Kaucher and was featured as a "Dream Car of the Month" in the December 2004 issue of Rod & Custom Magazine. The car was then built by Starlite Rod & Kustom in Torrance, CA in 2005. In January 2006, the car debuted at the Grand National Roadster Show (the longest running largest indoor show on the West Coast), where it took First Place in its class. Over the next two years, the car won 17 trophies and awards out of 19 shows and was given a 6 page feature in the October 2006 issue of Rod & Custom. You can see some of the articles on our website at http://www.kaucherkustoms.com
This car has been completely restyled with the modifications as follows: it has a '65 Buick Wildcat roof grafted on with a 2 1/2" chop, it has a Mercury front end with the Mercury hood scoop shaved off and the hood reskinned, it has a '54 Chevy grille with the teeth smoothed off, all four wheel arches have been swept back, the car has been lengthened overall by 7" and the wheel base extended to 118" like the Mercury, and custom rear bumpers made from '58-60 Corvette trumpet bumpers, a '62 T-Bird front push bar and the tips from a '67 Camaro. These are some of the major changes and there are many more.
The car is powered by a Ford 390 FE motor with a factory tri-power intake & carbs. It has a 4 speed top loader transmission and a Ford 9" rear end.
I'd love to have this as a daily driver. If not that, do a Ford Anglia like this. Even if it means using a Mk1 Escort roof.
