A modern window that leaks air and water may not be at fault. Rather, the rough opening was probably not prepared correctly.

  • After the peel-and-stick flashing has been applied, the video mentions a material called a "Moisture Diverter". This is our product, and ii's basically a metal trough placed above the top of the window RO. It is installed with a 1/4" slope-to-drain. The Sure Cavity is cut & placed in the MD. Any moisture that enters the building envelope above the window runs down the SC at the top & into the MD which carries it away from the top of the RO & deposits it in the SC at the side of the window.

  • What about the sure cavity above the window? Do you let it drain on top of the window?
