I don't get why the button would need to blink if you would be able to hear the alarm. if you're deaf you would never notice likely because the blink is so dim and it wouldn't wake you up.

we bought one of those talking ones, should be delivered sometime this week. Shame they dont sell the first alert talking one in the UK. Would be fun to see the dramatic American 'EVACUATE!!!' sound lol
