  • Well its about time!

I lived in Santo Domingo, DR for 2 years. 80% are dark skinned Black (Moreno), and 20% are Reddish Brown (Indio). Very few are White (Blanco). But they are all ONE amongst each other.

But there is a line that divides their Island, and the Dominicans on the other side speak French and Kreole.

80% are also Dark Skinned (Negro). Their Redbones are called Mullatos. They call themselves Haitians- even though they're from the EXACT same tribes as Dominicans

  • Peace! Good lookin on the info. It was very difficult for me to write Latino but I don't know a proper name to encompass all Spanish speaking people..I could easily say Moor but many won't accept that.

  • Hotep Teach!!

Sending my sincere thanks and appreciation to you BaBa for creating this piece of awareness for all to see in spite of the mischaracterization of Our misguided youth being exploited by the devils from Viacom via BET & MTV that We are all working to bring the reality to Our people lulled away by channel zero.

Creating a connect between Our English & Spanish speaking displaced in the Diasphora is essential to completing that commUNITY vision for the future.

    Hetepu!

  • Hotep Bredren. We one family, 2.5 billion strong, but one family

  • two different cultures wtf

  • @Asad1969 First off Spanish is a romance language and is based of Latin Same word and meaning in Italian & Spanish pronounced different Bella - 2nd the Moors were Arabs who invaded North Africa and of course took in slaves They raped women & pillaged north Africa 3rd Beans is not big in Spain they eat more fish because they are Mediterranean culture. Rice is a product of Eastern culture & brought from China. Ghengis Kahn brought it west with his great conquest when he captured the silk roads

  • @teacherofculture Remember the moors were kicked out of Spain during the Reconquista. They either got killed or fled because their was no mercy for them after hundreds of years of occupation. In fact the Spanish went as far as Morocco to ensure they were gone.

  • This is an excellent summary of the Miami Herald article. I remember my ex boyfriend (and still one of my best male guy friend) is Dominican. His mother is a darker skinned Dominican (morena) and his father is blanco. Thanks for creating this video and I will be sharing this on my Facebook page, which focuses primarily on Afro Latinos. Gracias!

  • @Asad1969 From one historian who was mixed Puerto Rican he said that the Spaniards were originally Moors and Blacks people but that changed when Celts and Celtics came down and mixed with them making them "whites" etc!

  • @Asad1969 Interesting! Yeah, dark skinned blacks are considered mulatto! I think the demographics of DR are wrong! I think the so called 11% Black demographic only includes those of Haitian descent, and OMITS the native Hispanic Afro Dominicano population! SMFH! Most of DR is of mixed African and European descent!

  • Very ironic this piece was done by the Miami Herald, one of the most racist cities on the planet, dominated by Cubans, Jews and Wasps all of whom practice overt, covert racism in economics, education, housing etc. Someone should do a piece on Miami (and Florida in general) and how it treats Africans from America, Haiti and other countries. As for the self-hating Dominicans (not all but far too many eg Sammy Sosa), they are a disgrace.

  • that quote @ 5:48 is typical of alot of spanish speaking people in the states.

  • @EbonyLoveAndMarriage google..dominicans denial..and look at what you see. Look at sammy sosa.

read BLACK BEHIND THE EARS..dominicans are a sick and twisted people
