Flowmaster's new super44 muffler on my 2004 F150 5.4L. It is a single in/dual out muffler with stock cats and piping up to the Y-pipe, 3inch pipe from the Y to the muffler, then dual 2.5inch pipes straight out the back into two 3inch Flowmaster tips.

  • im sorry to say this but super 44's are not loud at all they are deep at first but they arent loud, my cherry bombs are so much better sounding, i had a rev off with my friend when he got his super 44's and i blew him away no comparison.

  • I understand. I currently run a Borla made Roush muffler in replacement of the super44, it is a 9" muffler. The performance is superb, and the sound is excellent. Have you ever seen the interior of a cherry bomb? Serious torque killers. Rev offs only mean so much, but the low end torque my truck produces just abuses my 35" KM2s in 4Lo, its UNREAL.

  • hey man, what was your economy like with the Super 44 on?

  • My economy was the same with the flowmaster and Roush. Before i lifted the truck, i averaged 14.3 city and 19.2 highway. Keep in mind i dont drive it hard.

  • Thats cool. I've always liked Flowmaster but my last exhaust experience with them wasn't too good, I still have the two Super 44s I originally bought for my truck and have been thinking of trying them out sometime, maybe next spring because I get salty winters, but I would like to give them a chance. I like my Magnaflows alot but I would like them to echo further and sound louder inside.

  • I think you would like them on these Fords. Mine never resonated NEARLY as bad as your chevy or my friend's chevy did with them. Something about the cats on these trucks really quiets it down inside, but outside it still sounds wicked. I kinda miss the high RPM scream the flows made, the sound that straight through mufflers cannot produce.

  • Idiot can't tell rust from dirt. If you are a ford hater, why watch this anyway?

  • Who needs mufflers???? Striaght Pipes all the way!

  • cherry bombs sound like crap

  • 14" tips?

  • @ trick209: thanks for your answer. I ve heard this now a few times so that must be true (unfortunately). I just bought some Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers for my 74 Monte Carlo with a 350 cui V8, no cats and true dual 2.25 inches exhaust. So maybe I'll try to sold them and order Flowmaster 40 series.

  • the 40 series i think has the best rumble and noise level. the super 40 and 44s are not loud enough for me.they have a nice deep tone but not enough rumble.

  • I've heard a lot saying cherry bombs just sounds deep and loud but doens't rumble like flowmaster does. The question is: which Flowmaster sounds better and/or louder: the old 40 series or the new super 44?

  • it cost me 250 for my set up, dual glass packs straight piped no cats with 14" tips

  • Nice looking truck man those chevy guys really piss me off check mine out
