This is my 97 cavalier. i have been having a popping and clunking noise coming from my car when steering, braking, and hitting bumps. this video is process in narrowing down the noise by checking all of the suspected parts. if you have any guesses on the cause or options about the video then please leave a comment down below. there is also a forum psot on this problem over at eric the car guy forums the link is http://www.ericthecarguy.com/forum/topics.aspx?id=80&PAGE=1 if you have a similar problem with your car then check out the post because when i narrow it down and make the repair ill be posting the result there.
I ended up replacing my struts and outer tie rod ends. the rattling is gone but the popping is still present and the steering is loose. I'm going to end up replacing the inner tie rods as well as replacing my PS rack.

@TwiztedDesirez85 Right now im getting ready to order new Monroe struts. ill replace those and then go from there. then after ill be taking my car to the dealership because there is a recall on the rack and pinon that might just be the cause for the clunking in the steering. according to the recall notice the pinon shafts can be forced upward on left turns and forced back down when making right turns due to faulty retainer clips.
