LODI - On December 14, the Lodi Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fire in the attic of the American Legion building located at 41 Union Street.

Police officers weres the first to arrive on scene and reported a heavy smoke condition emitting from the attic area of the building. The call was then "re-toned" as a "working fire".

Lodi's fire chief transmitted a second alarm on arrival and wanted all 2nd alarm companies to report to the scene.

Companies tried attempting an interior attack but were unable to proceed into the building due to heavy fire volume and the risk of collapse. It was then that command pulled everyone out of the building and switched from an interior to an exterior attack.

Numerous mutual aid towns operated at this scene and the fire is under investigation.

  • @Hephaestus324 i live half a block from where this occured, and i was a probationary firefighter in this town at the time it happened, by the time my pager went off, my block was blacked out with smoke, with the age of the building, the structual integrity even before this fire there was no possible way of saving the building, no matter how hard we tried

  • This building could have been saved if a fast attack was performed while getting som ventlation hole cut in the roof. Happy I don't have these guys covering my area where I live!!!!

  • @marcelrotgans 3 short horn blasts mean get out, for the firefighters inside a structure.

  • i have a question, why does the fire truck blows his horn all the time?

i have heard that before on other video's but i can't understand why they do that.

  • Bombeiros Ílhavo 2010 see this on ytube.

  • @dpattiris you mean like a 2 1/2 piercing nozzle??? thats a great idea except all the groups like nfpa and the ones that i dont know would have a field day on that... there are very strict guidelines that you have to follow with ladder trucks... me personally though,,, id love to see it happen...but im just a retired old has been smoke eater who knows nothing about modern day firefighting...

  • maad putas tere where am i gonna frolic now

  • is this in ohio?
