I co-wrote "Since Tina Moved In" about a friend of mine who succumbed to crystal meth (Tina) as well as a host of any other drugs that he could get his hands on. The funny thing is, my friend seemed to have it all together until, of course, he hit rock bottom. He was incredibly talented and very well liked. My friend had to give up his condo, he lost his job and many of his friends. He also shut out many of the family and friends who were tried to help him. At his worst, he was hanging out with street kids at all hours of the night looking for his next fix....staying awake days at a time.
At one point, I ran into him on the street asked him If I could treat him to a burger. I took him to Burger King and bought him a Whopper and onion rings to eat. He literally fell asleep in mid-sentence after his first bite of the Whopper. As he sat there, asleep, I had to call his name 4 times before he came to. He finally finished his burger and stuffed the rest of his onion rings in his cargo pants pocket, for later.
The one thing I realized is, if it could happen to him, it could happen to anybody. Crystal meth (Tina) is one nasty drug.
I co-wrote "Since Tina Moved In" with Dave Pickell
There are two versions of Since Tina Moved In on my album, The Messenger.
Guitar played by the incredible David Celia.

  • @JUNiORR94 Hmmm....maybe somebody could present this video/song to a few school boards. It's a great idea. Thanks!

Most viewers are repulsed by the images...which, of course, was my point.

    Cheers,

    James
