Yeah I agree with that
-
certainly agree about mr heartbreak - has beautiful synth textures and atmospheres, as well as great contributions from players of traditional instruments. i'm a big fan of laurie, have most of her stuff but regard that album as my ultimate favourite. how wonderful it would be to find some out-takes! i like a lot of vu but haven't investigated much of lou's solo stuff, don't know much about his personality.

he's still a bit of a prick though. like you said, I do like his music anyway, but his personality is a bit bothersome.
-
Well the common perception is that Lou's a difficult person but an always intriguing artist. He's toned down wjth age, mellowed if you will, but Lou before Laurie was a mean ass dude. His drug haze of the 70s made him even more unpredictable really.

I feel exactly the same way. I own most of his stuff, including the whole VU catalog. But I think Laurie's music is on a different level completely. Mr Heartbreak is a masterpiece.

Great archival piece. Many thanks for sharing.
I like Lou Reed's music but when it comes to his personality he bothers me a little bit.
Both are outspoken but she's just more relaxed. With Lou, you have to watch yourself. People love him for being "big-mouthed," as I've seen a lot of people put it, but I don't appreciate it as much.
