Shindell is one of the modern greats -- along with folks like John Gorka and Greg Brown and Lucy Kaplansky and Dar Williams and Cheryl Wheeler and Patty Larkin and Carrie Newcomer...seen his half a dozen times...each was a memorable, deep night of music and humanity. Thanks for the great post.

I actually have to say that I thought exactly the same when I viewed it for the first time yesterday since September yestedrday. It's so sad that Alex never really felt comfortable with the American flavour stuff.
