Anggun Speech about Rindepest in Rome, Italy

Rome, Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at FAO Headquater Plenary Hall. The history of food safety created.

FAO unveiled that world is now free from rinderpest. This virus-caused disease attacked ruminant animals such as cow which consumed by most people around the world as one of food protein resources. Rinderpest elimination is the one of human histories to successfully decrease sum of diseases in the world after smallpox.

To celebrate that, FAO organized the 37th biennial conference. The commemoration took place in the presence of high-level representatives of member countries, partner agencies, former UN Secretary-General and FAO Goodwill Ambassadors.

French singer Indonesia root, Anggun, also have been FAO Goodwill Ambassador since 2009 taking part to give speech and perform on the opening ceremony session.
