Having went through the tragic death of my younger sister, I understand the anger and the "where was God?" Blame game doesn't help anyone. I feel for both Eloise and Laura. Putting the blame on a little girl is a heavy heavy weight. I also understand that. I carried guilt for years after my brother died while camping when I was 10. My faith has freed me from that guilt!!!

I hope you're feeling better@Moviesmoveme. I can't imagine what losing a child must feel like. I lost my husband several years ago, but I know that's a different kind of pain. Still, I believe God can and will help you through it. Just like Laura told Eloise. THere were nights that all I could do was curl up into a fetal position and cry, but I felt God's love and peace. God bless and keep you.

Poor Eloise. She lost her mind.I cannot blame her for holding Laura in hostage because she wasn't herself in those moments.Losing a child can make you go mad.especially in those conditions and Laura and Ellen had the same age.

@jecka1982 Maybe Laura and mary did swim around the pond but saw nothing because Ellen might have been stuck beneath the water by a branch or a trap.It sometimes happens unfortunately and they were so terrified that they called for help.
