http://www.DadLabs.com - Dealing With Tantrums: Tantrums, meltdowns, and hissy fits can be a nightmare for parents. In this episode of The Lab, Daddy Clay and Daddy Brad tackle this important child behavior topic. Since we're all about fairness here at DadLabs, we'll first show kids some techniques for throwing a temper tantrum and getting the most of their meltdown, including the best locations for their hissy fit. We also speak with early parenting coach, Carrie Contey, PhD. to learn why temper tantrums happen, how child development factors into it, and what mom and dad can do to deal with them. The dads also weigh in with their thoughts and reveal what exactly they're thinking when they see other parent's children throwing a tantrum. DadLabs Ep. 563 is brought to you by BabyBjorn. • Your better off whippin' the childs ass with a switch, wooden spoon, small belt, sumthin' that hurts and gives welts. When they throw a tantrum, u put it on them and don't be angry or sad, keep a str8 face. Now, when they throw tantrums they'll be to a limit. They won't do it in public, or when u don't wanna deal with it. Sumtimes it happens and is funny at times. But u can't let that be normalcy, cuz they think it's ok. Then all u have to do is get the spoon, not use it.

  • @WONDERYYY You might want to check out our video on spanking. Lots of research on this subject that you might want to check out.

  • You handled that topic in great form! I help parents deal with such issues everyday. Your "chill out" attitude had me laughing. Great advice. They only info I'd add; if tantrums occure every trip to the store, etc..., hire a baby sitter and make sure the child understands why they won't be attending the event. Other option; bring sitter- tantrum then equals removeal from area. NOT held by sitter! Car seat or other un-fun area.

  • Thanks for watching and we appreciate the specific feedback. The "tantrum-sitter" is a great idea. Having both parents present at a typically tantrum-inducing location might be a good idea for this reason.

  • Good tips. I'll need them.

  • Glad we could be of help. You should sub us!

  • No most children throw tantrums in public to see wut ur gonna do around other ppl, Like Mom or Dad won't do nothin' around gramma, or in the store. SHHH, I hear parent all the time trying to make deals with their children. If u can't make eye contact with your child, is like saying I can't look myself in the eyes when I look in the mirror at myself. 1st time parents need to reflect on how they were raised and pick the goods and remove the bads, but u only have 1, it is easiest then.

  • @DadLabs But I usually don't have 2, kickin it with my children is fun, I teach them to act, play, interact, share, then I let them be them. Tantrums don't happen 2 often, or without good reason. Cuz if we teach our kids to act that way in a place where they can loose their life, go to jail, or earn a bad rep, we need to be spanked. A man who spares the ROD from a child hates him, is wut the bible says. I believe it. I see and live it everyday..... No tantrums ren't funny.

  • @DadLabs 4 wut? I can't find it neways. BUt I don't need to listen to sumone who goes to school to learn child behavior, i have 4 of my own. I don't wnt to be a typical utube rgumettive person, but I don't think being embarrest in public is funny.. PPL looking at u, no. My children r children and do mostly wut they want, but there is a line. When they cross that line it's over. They know it cuz I teach them first, they know the look. If they show out in public I warn 1nce.
