Marlee the Lab

Marlee had waited quite a while to find her forever home. She had met with a number of people but never really liked them. Michelle, her foster mom, had almost given up hope when a lovely lady came in one day to meet a different dog, saw Marlee, and it was love at first sight! Marlee barely gave Michelle a backward glance as she went trotting out the door (I think Michelle's feelings might have been a bit hurt!). So how tragic was it that just a couple of weeks later this woman was diagnosed with recurring cancer! Yet, with all the anxiety and, let's face it, fear that must have given her, she wept when she brought Marlee back, not knowing if anyone else would see the wonderful dog that she had seen! We want Marlee to find a forever home soon so that we can contact this sweet lady and put her mind at rest, at least in this corner of her life!
Here is a wonderful update from a foster :
"I've fostered Marlee a couple of times and I just adore her! She loves toys and
can play fetch forever! Also, like a typical lab, she likes to swim. She loves
affection and is such a sweetheart. She made herself right at home on my couch
and even beat me to my bed every night! She is alert and will bark when someone
knocks on the door, but she will also quiet down when you tell her to. She loves
to play with other dogs - although she didn't like a couple of smaller dogs I
introduced her to! (I think she was just being protective of me.) To me, Marlee
is the perfect dog. There's only one catch.. She doesn't like children. Her new
owner needs to be very aware of this. (A child must have done something pretty
bad to her before she came to Judy!) Marlee would be great for a single person
or couple who doesn't have children and doesn't have children visiting their
home. Oh, and Marlee told me she would love someone who has a nice big
fenced-in backyard, preferably with a pool. Do you meet her criteria? :) "

Marlee is a pretty Lab/Shepherd mix who is about two years old. She is great at playing fetch and will bring a ball back to you (I used to have a lab/rottie mix that would bring back the ball then dare you to take it away....). She loves car rides and swimming, but more than anything she would like a family that she can take care of and play with. At 60 pounds, she is the perfect size for outings. In fact, she is just right for you (but not for children)! Come see Marley and let her put a smile on your face. She always has one on hers!!! Marlee was one of the dogs selected to participate in the University of Doglando training in October. Several trainers from around the country were here for a class and our dogs were the ones they worked with!

I have a dog named Roxy that looks exactly like this one. My neighbor had one that looked like mine for 16 years before she dies....he has her ashes on his mantle. He wants another one. I am in California,,,,is this dog still needing a home?
