@CIRCUS1944 I never attended the Academy, but I"ve been on that field enough times to know it is a mess when it's wet. That and not all of the shoes have favorable tread/traction on the underside...
Not the greatest dress right dress, but you have to consider that this cadet wing parade is on the parade field with soggy grass, not an easy parade to march. I am a proud alumni of this band from 1972 - 1982. Y
NOTICE : The Air Force Academy Band recently lost their status as a Special AF Band . That means the musicians can no longer be promoted , without regard to their time in rank . At one time , this band had only NCO slots and so many very talented musicians were recuited for this band . Now , they have the same promotion standards as an AF field band . However , the performance schedule is much more demanding than an ordinary AF field band , so personnel are leaving this in great numbers !
About marching on the bomb run, yes, I totally agree... It's difficult to keep your DCID ALL THE TIME... And when you're marching, your cadence IS the band and from where you are, there's about a split second delay which makes it more interesting. LOL. And marching on the grass in your blues?!? No... Not a joke...
Nothing can stop the USAF...I know...I was in for 20 wonderful years.
