I got a glass ornament as a gift and it had a photo of my son INSIDE the glass - it was flush against the glass - I guessing decoupaged. Then she marbled inside with paint like you did. Have you tried to put a picture in first? I'm not quite sure how it was done, but it's gorgeous.

@gillian927 Great question. The most important thing to note is if the seal is good on your seams on your ornament. You do not want to have the paint leak through the sides. If you are worried about this, then glue your plastic together with a glue like 527 or E6000 overnight and then try the technique. It is important to have a hole in the top for air so the paint will dry inside. Try one without the glue first to see if you need that additional step.

What type of paint do you use...I understand it has to be acrylic type paint, is this correct and that it cant have metallic in it. Would I be able to add glitter in the ball before shaking?

@pamelamiller03 We use basic acrylic paint, like Ceramcoat or Americana. We've had good results with metallic paints, and even glitter paint.

Thank you so much for posting this video. I am in charge of making ornaments for the kids at school for Christmas. I would love for you to send me the instructions on how to put the picture inside ornament with paint.Great job!!!

@smusey Once the inside of the ornament is painted, it might be difficult to see a picture. If you leave a clear window, then wait for the paint to dry completely, you could try putting a photo inside. Printing the photo on vellum then rolling to insert into the ornament has worked for me before, but that was with a clear ornament where I didn't have to worry about which direction the photo would unroll. Hello. I have made ornaments similar to these then cut out names and stick figures with my vinyl cutter and placed around the outside. The sold really well.
