i remember hearing one of his songs on the radio, since that day i had to listen to his music cuz i was hooked. if you listen to toms music and aint hooked instantly, you need to clean out your ears and re evaluate your purpouse in life.

@blindwilliehighlight I'm not sure what to say when an American artist is underrated in Spain. Seriously. Spain has such a beautiful musical tradition that I would consider it an honor to be "underrated" in Spain. Personally, I'm not a Springsteen fan at all. I'm sure American music receives a wide range of acceptance depending upon the circumstances. When it comes down to it, I wouldn't trade Petty's voice for anybody's.

@funface2 Well, he's underrated here in Spain, believe me, where Springsteen is nearly a religion and Dylan is considered "too old"... Sad but true...

@blindwilliehighlight I like your sentiment, but I think Tom has one of the most underrated voices in the history of the business. Actually, he has won so many awards I guess he is not underrated at all!

You know, he's not the greatest singer in the world but there is something in his voice and his way of phrasing... He moves me like just a few: Dylan, Van The Man... and I think nobody else. Tom's one of the most genuine rockers ever.
