Had he stumbled upon Romanticism 60 years before it began to develop as a musical paradigm in the early 19th century, it would be viewed as an extraordinarily prophetic composition that was over 60 years ahead of its time. Had he been Polish, this overture would have been at least 70 years ahead of its time in that culture. He could have been a prevailing formative influence on Chopin! Had he been a Spanish poet instead of a composer, he could have been imprisoned for his art!
