Allah's Rasool (saw) said: "When the month of Ramadhan starts, the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of hell are closed and the devils are chained." [Saheeh Bukhari]

Allah(Swt) says in the Qur'an,"Indeed the believers but a single brotherhood" (49:10)

The Prophet(saw) said,"The Muslim Ummah is one Ummah exclusively to others: Their Land is One, their War is One, their Peace is One, their Trust is One and their Honor is one."(Ahmed)
Bukhari narrates that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "Do not fast until you see the moon, and do not break fast until you see it." In another narration, the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, " if you see it (moon) fast and if you see it break fast (and the moon). But, if it can't be seen, then calculate for it." In another narration, the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "The month is twenty nine nights. Thus, do not fast until you see it. But, if it is not visible, then complete the month thirty days."
In addition, Ad-Dar Qutni and Abu Daul narrated (sahih hadith) that Ibn Umar said that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, People were trying to sight the moon, and I told the Messenger of Allah (saw) that I saw it. So he started fasting and ordered the people to start fasting."
. Ibn Abbas (ra) narrated that Muhammad (saw) said, "Do not fast one day or two days just before Ramadhan except in the case of a person who has been in the habit of observing a fast (on that day)." [Sunan Abu Dawood] Also our beloved Messenger Muhammad (saw) said Whoever fasts the day of doubt has disobeyed Abul Qasim (i.e. the Prophet (saw))." [Sunan Ibn Majah].

" May Allah! The All-Hearer, The All- Knower help us all muslims realise the TRUTH of this world and grant us all hidayat to REPENT back to HIM and live the rest of our LIFE according to HIM following the TRUE SUNNAH of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and RE-UNITE us again as ONE SINGLE UMMAH and fight back for HIS sake n get back HIS Rule and HIS Law in our Lives again, indeed IN IT is the success of both worlds, For Allah has the power over all the things and HE is the All- Powerful and the ONLY ONE to turn our hearts and to fulfill our duas, Subhanallah! And may Allah swt make us not a trial for the disbelievers, and forgive us for all the sins we have made, forgive us for all the mistakes we have done, 4 Allah is the ONLY ONE to forgive our sins The Almighty ! The All- Wise !
Jazakallah Khair

U still didnt answer my Q....anyways i understood wat u mean to say, IT HARD TO RELY ON THE PERSON WHO HAVE SIGHTED IN THIS PERIOD OF TIME........tatz true as well, but still never did the speaker said to trust BLINDLY......khair iA :)

    JzkAllah khairan akhil kareem :)

  • Only on one occasion in medina moon was not sighted and Rasullulah accepted the witnessed statement of a Nomad Arab. But consideration needs to be taken that the person who accepted the testimony was the messenger of Allah and the witness himself was a just Sahabi (In essence, both parties have no element of doubt). The practice of our Pious Salaf us Saliheen clearly indicates that they insisted upon the ‘Ruyat e A’amah’.

  • @hamzabinkalam : Sayyidina Ibn Umar RA relates from Nabi SAW that there are twenty-nine nights in a month, do not fast until you see it (the Hilal), if it is hidden from you then complete thirty days. (Saheeh Bukhari p,306/ Saheeh Muslim p,347)

  • @hamza: The word in the Hadith فلا تصوموا حتى تروه، which can mean that when a lot of people sight it (the Hilal) then fasting should begin. Through out the lifetime of prophet ‘Ruyat e A’amah’ i.e. a large group as could be understood by this Athar (speech of Sahabah or Tabi’een) was practised.

  • @hamzabinkalam : Above, the Saudi government has written in the Introduction of the Umm ul Qura calendar that they are pleased that a calendar has been prepared for the Islamic months from 1409 to 1440. The basis of the commencement of the Islamic month in this calendar is upon the ‘birth of the new moon.’
