That's a cool pool!

@relxn I have done extensive research on all types of dog breeds, including special training needs, diet, etc. I currently have a beautiful Collie who I got when I was a little girl, she is older now and has many health problems due to being inbred but I am thankful that I have her because she's led me to learn so much about dogs. I am looking for a high energy dog since I am very athletic and would love to enter agility, flyball, and frisbee groups and clubs with my pet.

@MsZoraZ-PLEASE-Do as much research as possible on any breed of dog that you plan to get! B.C's are considered one of the smartest (if not THE smartest!) of ALL breeds. BUT! They're EXTREMELY HIGH ENERGY dogs. The breed was developed to herd sheep over rough terrain in all kinds of weather. B.C's need +++physical/mental stimulation ALL THE TIME! If a B.C. isn't exercised A LOT every day it will probably become unmanageable/destructive. IF you can cope with it's needs then GOOD LUCK + ENJOY!!

@herdingdrive Yep! I agree, my other BC Twix loves water too, but tomorrow will be his first time in the indoor pool. I will get video footage of his first swim. :)
Bandit is so cute! We should go to fiesta together, I went with splash the other day and she seemed bored without him there.

@kikopup That would be fun! I have not been there in so long! Bandit has a way of keeping life interesting for everyone (humans & dogs).

I have a year old border collie mix and he is a fantastic dog. We hike all the time, a few weeks ago we went on one that was next a stream, at one point the water got pretty deep so we were scaling the rocks next to the water to get around when my pup slipped on the rocks and fell into the water. He couldn't get out on his own and I had to get into the water and lift him out. Now he is scared of any water, any tips on how to get him used to it again? He loved the water before :(

@pattymac5 If I were you I would get a small kiddy pool and start from there. With no water, then a little water, then more and more. Eventually go to a safe place that you can get in the water with him and hold him as he paddles. It is hard to say if it will work, I would just have patience and make it as fun as you can for him. I would not force him, but just encourage. GOOD LUCK! I am so sorry that happened. Set backs happen, just hang in there. :)

I wonder whether the pool gets a lot of dog hair in the filter? This appears to be an enjoyable experience for both the owner and for the dog. This is ssooo much better than so many other videos here on YT where owners just throw their dog(s) into deep water when the animal has never swam before, or set them adrift on air mattresses that they've never been on before. A lot of THOSE videos were extremely upsetting to me. Those stupid people shouldn't be allowed to have pets! THIS video is lovely!

@relxn Thank you so much for your nice comment! I always make sure I set my dogs up for success and to enjoy what they are doing. I bet the filter does get a lot of hair in it. Have a great day!
