Burke was in the first episode wasnt he playing the part of the incompetant pilot that hugh marlow played in the movie when they killed savage it was a tricked up thing because lansing quit because they wouldnt pay him enough money they never showed his face

if your talking about col.joe gallagher(paul burke) he was not on the show until savage was killed and then gallagher took over command of the 918th bomber group
