  • Wow, this takes me back to tight pants, pointy shoes and the girls going "full blouse" in Catholic school. Thanks Rationals.

  • Otis did it first. But even this version came before Aretha's. Also a version by Johnny Rivers came before Aretha Franklin's

  • EVERYONE SHOULD ALWAYS REMEMBER JEEP HOLLAND. HE GAVE US A2 PRODUCTIONS WHICH GAVE US A LOT OF GREAT MOTOR CITY MUSIC. HE WAS A FANTASTIC GUY WITH A GREAT BIG OLE HEART. MISS HIM AND SO SAD HE IS GONE NOW.

  • @waterman9465 Are you kidding? This is some of the first white soul from Detroit.

  • A true garage get going song! remings me of the late 60's......FUN!

    forgot to say.........IM FROM DEEETROIT!!

  • A true garage get going song! remings me of the late 60's......FUN!

  • @laurog7: This version is good, but the original is by Otis Redding. These guys are not Otis.

  • I've got this 45 record! Love the Rationals!! I grew up in Fenton, Mi and used to see them often!

  • @Wehategod No, definitely not. The Rationals were and are Scott Morgan, Bill Figg, Terry Trabandt and Steve Correll.

  • better then the original!!!!

  • I saw these guys live at the Michigan State Fair Grounds ( the Mod Wedding ) and at the Auto Rama ( Cobo Hall ) back in the late sixties. Oh yes, I have that exact 45rpm record to this very day. ( 2010 ) I am sixty years old now.

  • when the finial story of detroit rock is written these guys need to be highly mentioned as innovators of its sound. I got this 45 single when it was released and it got much air time in the detroit-ann arbor cooridoor. you can bet bob seger,Iggy pop,ted nugent, members of mc5,src,and frost, all were influenced by this group, this sound, and this cover of respect.

  • I love this song.

  • Wasn't Bob Seger a member of this Group at one time or another

  • @mikeonthe7th -- That's a great garage band out of ANN ARBOR...

  • Great garage band out of Detroit!

  • This should have been a world-wide smash. Scott Morgan nails this as does the band.

  • Always loved this song!!!

  • each time that I visit Youtube, I always come back to listen to this song one more time. So many memories!

  • There's a special place in my heart for this song. My favorite of all versions.

  • The Motor City rocked then and it ROCKS now!

  • Righteous............

  • My fav version..It puts Aretha's to shame.

  • When I was a kid these guys were great at Cobo Hall during the Auto Rama
