Children of incarcerated parents are often forgetten. I am one of them and if you have never been in the situation you don't know how it feels. It's a pain like no other. At first you feel lonely and scared, you worry about your parent and if they are ok, it's confusing and you don't know the outcome. This is a issue that can affect the rest of your life, even though you are not the one that is incarcerated.
