  • I disagree. Fundamentally, the conscious mind is capable of everything that the unconscious can achieve. If maximum speed (with adrenaline etc.) is necessary, then rumera will do it.

    Rumera relies on logic. So in your example, rumera would calculate top speed with adrenaline in mind. It would also know that running (even if it's not fast enough) is still a better option than standing still.

    The world's fastest runners do not scare themselves into going faster; they focus. That is rumera.

  • Bah. Evolution favoured fear for good reason I think. Nothing beats sheer adrenaline pumping fear to get those legs snapped into running mode and hauling your arse away at a speed slightly faster than you thought you could run. If you relied on rumera - you'd think your top speed wasnt enough - and you wouldn't run.

    I'm sure there were billions animals who were slightly more ruminatory than scared.. just before they were eaten.
