Resistance and Liberation - Carentan Cockabout

Subhazard tries his hand at Resistance and Liberation. This is probably one of the funnier games I've ever played because of the players.

Some of the great things about it is the game's attention to detail and realism, while still maintaining game balance without breaking immersion or using too much handholding techniques in the game design.

Despite a few minor MG glitches that can be frustrating, the game plays very tight and the combat feels real. You will feel suppressed when someone fires bullets over your head, not because they sound especially realistic, but because only one bullet is needed to kill you.

Probably the best feature about the game is the 3D voice chat, where players can only hear you if they are close, and their volume reflects their proximity. You can hear enemy players too, and even get some of them to surrender if you're especially persuasive.

The game is objective based, and you don't get to track your kills or whether or not you have killed someone (or if they're even an enemy) so there's a lot of focus on doing the best job you can to keep everyone alive. Heroics go mostly unnoticed, but teammwork is highly and naturally valued.

It will be a sad day if Resistance and Liberation gets forgotten.

@Katsujosh Sometimes. There's a steam group that will start matches.

It's a shame this mod simply REFUSES to take off. If it had scores, people would stay. There's simply no meta-game to it.
