Davenport, Iowa (11 October 2008) - At a rally for John McCain, held Saturday the 11th of October, the Senator's speech was preceded by an invocation given by Rev. Arnold Conrad. In it, Conrad said:

"There are millions of people around this world praying to their god, whether it's Hindu, Buddha, Allah, that [McCain's] opponent wins, for a variety of reaons. And Lord, I pray that you would guard your own reputation because they're going to think that their god is bigger than you if that happens. So I pray that you would step forward and honor your own name in all that happens between now and election day."

Is it an election or a holy war? Sen. McCain and Rev. Conrad are giving organized religion a bad name.

  • Thanks for the great comments. The sad thing here is that this man is abusing and discrediting religion. He's using it as a political stun-gun.

There's one God, thank you. And He's not the property of the Republican party, of white people, or any one group.

Sad to say, this was every bit as much in character with the McCain campaign generally as it was deplorable. I frankly was not surprised.

  • Apparently the good reverend, being a theologian, doesn't realise that Hindu is not a god, nor is Buddha, and that Allah is arabic for God...the same god of abraham that christians and jews revere.

  • There are many Christians voting for Obama. Obama is also a follower of Christ.

I am sorry about this comment to anyone who is Hindu, Budhist, or Muslim. This man is misrepresenting my Jesus.

Lord, forgive us for we know not what we do.

  • What's this saying about all the Christians that voted against McCain. Most Muslims I met were Republican. I wonder if they still are?

  • this guy acts like a kid.

he doesn't even show ANY christian values.

    sad...

  • I wonder how this moronic charlatan felt on the night of 11/04/2008? I love seeing these dipshits make total asses of themselves.

  • hindus would never think that their god is better just because of this election. they have never been that intolerant or arrogant.

  • or maybe god does not listen to anyone because maybe he's just imaginary and he does not answer prayers of any kind!!!

  • what a loser!!! i guess god didn't want to guard "his reputation" because mccain clearly lost. or does it mean that god admitted that the other gods where greater than him??? LOL... what a joke!

  • This video is hilarious. =D

  • I believe that some people confuse God as a genie in a bottle. He'll do tricks for you, if you ask him nicely.

If their is a god I doubt he/she/it is here to dance like a monkey for our entertainment.

But then again some people take their faith to a vulgar extreme.

  • God does not listen to rabid dogs.
