U.S. President Barack Obama took a dramatic step on Thursday. He ordered the detention center at Guantanamo Bay closed within one year. The controversial prison was opened under former President George Bush to house foreign terror suspects in the wake of the September 11th terror attacks. On his second day in office, President Obama also made some key diplomatic appointments, as VOA's Robert Raffaele explains.
