Sweet Bird of Youth is a film based on Tennessee William's smash hit Broadway play. A story about greed, love and the passing of time. Reprising their Broadway roles are Geraldine Page, Madeline Sherwood, Rip Torn and Paul Newman

@sjrisher51 I agree with you. The use of EBB TIDE in the movie was brilliant. The use of the song in the scene where Newman is so excited to tell Shirley Knight that he's got the contract and they can leave was a stroke of genius. It is an emotionally powerful scene because of the music of EBB TIDE.

A suggestion: mute the sound on this video and open a tab on any version of EBB TIDE, (the music used in the movie). Let the music for EBB TDE play while you watch the images from Sweet Bird of Youth. I agree; Christina Aguilera is completely wrong for these images. Search Sweet Bird of Youth ebb tide and any version will do.

The song was so absolutely perfect for the scenes u chose! This is one of my favorite movies. It is also, I think, such a tragic/beautiful love stories. Those eyes of Newman's could melt steel. I was so sad when he passed. That era of actor is practically gone. Geraldine Page was a goddess! She rules! One of the best Tennesse Williams plays EVER!
