This work is part of the current haptic/ surgical simulation project (Augmented Reality Simulator for Needle Biopsies). In this video, we demonstrate the virtual mode of operation of the surgical simulator developed by ARMLAB. In this mode, the sensorized needle (needle and finger force transducers and motion capture markers) can be used to conduct needle insertion on virtual biopsy phantoms and force-feedback (haptic effects) felt by user can be recorded and compared for developing accurate and realistic simulations.
