  • No exhibition of other-worldly physics seen here. No nationalist-slanted embellishing. Correct and accurate aerial tactics.

The History and Military channels could take many lessons from this vid.

    Bravo! and 5 Stars!

  • A very good job on this. Thanks for making it.

  • quoting from wikipedia: "Historian Eric Hammel summed up the significance of the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands as, "Santa Cruz was a Japanese victory. That victory cost Japan her last best hope to win the war."

  • I realized that our navy was stronger than the Ecuadorian navy.

  • America, AMERICA$! America Fuck Yeah!

Coming agin to save the motherfucking day now!

  • Forgot something to say to all of you here,

first af all, I have to apologize.

  • However, they were now unable to mobilize their carriers effectively due to aircraft shortage.

Retreat from the Guadalcanal was only a matter of time.

To both sides, battles over the Guadalcanal in the South Pacific have become a turning point.

  • While the IJN's carriers Shokaku and Zuiho were damaged, the US navy's carrier Enterprise was damaged, besides, the Hornet was lost.

In terms of tactics, the IJN won.

As a result, the US navy had no carrier available in the Pacific.

This battle, therefore, came to be called "the worst naval anniversary ever".

The IJN, on the other hand, still have Zuikaku, Junyo, in addition to a few light carriers.

In terms of naval aviation, they finally outnumbered the US navy.

  • According to Report, she is terribly leaning and exploding. Besides, her condition is out of control due to fire. No chice. Tell them my order to torpedo her. Aye, sir. She is all that Nagumo left for us. Give her the rest. October 27th, 0135 a.m. USS Hornet sunk. The IJN task force and the advance fleet respectively continued seaching, only to find nothing. October 27th, 1300 p.m. Kondo ordered the task force to return to the Truk islands. Having been supplied, the advance fleet retured.
  • Halsey, the commander of South Pacific Area Command, ordered to sink the Hornet with torpedo. 2 US destroyers had 5 or 6 torpedos slam into her, yet she remained afloat. More than 400 rounds of 5 inch gun, ended up all the same. Ceace fire, ceace fire. How's that? We've given her deadly damage though. Shit. Jap fleet! Full speed ahead. Hard a starboard. "Advance fleet flagship Atago" Order from GF, condition permitted, capture and tow the carrier. Can you see that? Yes, sir.
