Critics examine China's human rights record - 07 Aug 08

Many supporters of the Beijing Olympics argue that hosting the Games will ultimately lead to a more open China.

So have the seeds for such change been planted - and if so how long will it take for them to bear fruit?

China has the all problems that a developping country should have,,, with the big economy rising, the problems comes more Obvious. BUT it is FAR as a lot of people thinking, in fact many people have NOT read any CHINESE HISTORY. Look what is american goverment doing. They repealed bretton Woods system to protect thier rich while they sold the world. they spend money no helping extremists to against hostility countries,,and tell lies to american people,Slander other countries. Are they the world peace protector?? no they are the war maker!! And they use the thier media and arrogant american to teach the world what is justice. tell me isn't it??

China is my country! Why you want to mange our country? You only try to know the things about China on tv but you never go to China to see how the chinese people live, and to know what we think about the gouvernment. I live really happy now, I can go to church every time, I can own a car, a house etc. We live really, really happy now althouht some people are poor, so we don't need your help! Shit! Vas te faire foutre! We don't like the other country to talk about our human right!!!

@cheetok1ng470 I highly doubt that. CCP would make sure none of you guys say anything bad about China. That's what you guys are trained to believe from birth but as you guys come to know the CCP is filled with a bunch of BS and corruption. If you said anything bad about the CCP you'd b locked up like Liu Xiaobo.

I think China is a great place filled with good people. I just hate the CCP.

@cheetok1ng470 Well, this might hurt your feelings...What you said about Slave labor and beggers all over the street etc. I didnt believe applied to China. I believe China is much worse than that.

If you're talking about the U.S. that's different...it's a war. And in any war there will be army patroling the streets. that is no where near China wherein even during times of peace there is still torture done to citizens for their beliefs.

when we see Obama or some EU representative supposedly visiting china to talk about human rights has nothing to do with it, they just want china to cut them some slack. the media are some manipulative prickss always taking the side which pays more. the reason i have lost all trust in the west is simple, they would do just about anything to make themselves look good.

i think the west will have to do much better than this to tame china. don't get me wrong, i have supported western influence against many other nations or alliances, however when it comes to china i cannot find any of the comments made against them as valid. because i know that in the west life is not really that much better than it is china, especially in USA.

Let's say a CNN guy went to beijinginterviewed 100 ppl, took 99 out, show the 1 that hates the CCP, then tell you guys what the U.S government want you guys to hear. Who's info do you think is more reliable, the CNN, or a Chinese who has lived in China all his life(ME)

In reality the countries that actually match these descriptions above are those that ur military have invaded and fought for their people's "freedom and rights"(Afghan, Iraq)

@felix242 every environment is suitable for different kinds of people. you cannot impose western values and create a western world in the east simply because it sounds better. human rights is a subjective thing. challenging someone else authority is an act of war. whether made by your own citizens or a foreign power. and you will have to be able to fight all the odds to cease his authority. violence is the single means of warfare. western influence on china is an act of war against china.

@TheScienceofnature no government is pure. there is always some corruption. And in the west there surely is corruption. But there's a way to do things that is always universal regardless of the government or country. You know what that is? Upholding human rights. Everyone deserves justice. China's justice is worse than shit. CCP is a disgrace to humanity.

If you believe in something I dont agree with, then I have the right to torture you with sleep deprivation and inject you with psychotropic drugs causing nerve damage and insanity. If you make fun of me, i have the right to kill and rape your wife and daughter. Basically, I'm the CCP.
